New Bat Virus Discovered in Thailand with Zoonotic Potential
A new bat virus has been discovered in Thailand by the EcoHealth Alliance, a non-profit research group associated with controversial experiments in Wuhan. The virus, found in a Thai cave where bat faeces are used as fertilizer, has the potential to infect humans. Dr Peter Daszak, the head of EcoHealth Alliance, reported the discovery during a World Health Organization meeting, highlighting its zoonotic pathogen potential. The scientist has previously rejected the lab leak theory for COVID-19, emphasizing natural origins. The report comes amid a surge in global coronavirus cases, partly driven by the JN.1 variant.
