Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Boys Doda commemorated National Sports Day 2024 with an event that merged the spirit of sportsmanship with the civic responsibilities promoted by the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program.
The event aimed to foster a sense of responsibility and civic engagement among students while celebrating the importance of sports.
The day began with a significant moment as students and staff gathered to take the SVEEP Pledge. This pledge underscored their commitment to raising electoral awareness, ensuring voter registration, and promoting responsible citizenship.
The pledge symbolized the institution’s dedication to nurturing informed and active citizens who understand the power of their vote in a democratic society.
Principal Sh. Rishi Kumar warmly welcomed the attendees, setting a positive tone for the day’s activities. Following this, Sh. Gurjeet Singh, the Nodal Officer for Assembly Constituency 52 (BDO Marmat), delivered an insightful speech on the significance of voting and the role it plays in strengthening democracy.
He emphasized the need for every eligible voter to participate in the electoral process, highlighting how critical it is for a healthy democracy.
