Doda, Sept 8: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Doda West, Shakti Raj Parihar, has written to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah seeking urgent intervention to support families affected by the recent spell of heavy rainfall across District Doda.

Parihar has proposed an amendment in the guidelines governing the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), which would enable MLAs to directly extend assistance to victims of natural calamities. He argued that such a provision would ensure timely relief to families whose homes and properties have been severely damaged, addressing their immediate needs in an effective manner.

“The affected families are under great distress and are in urgent need of support. Allowing MLAs to use CDF directly for such situations will help deliver quick assistance,” Parihar wrote.
