At the Raj Bhawan in Srinagar, a commemorative postage stamp honoring the late Wazir Mohd Hakla Poonchi was unveiled on 24th July 2024. The event was presided over by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Manoj Sinha, who officially released the stamp in memory of Wazir Mohd Hakla Poonchi.
The occasion saw the presence of several notable figures, including the Chief Post Master General of the J&K Circle, Mr. Amitabh Singh; Hon’ble Justice Choudhary of the J&K High Court; and the DDC Chairperson of Poonch, Mrs. Tazeem Akhter.
Additionally, the proposers of the commemorative stamp, Mr. Shamsher Hakla Poonchi and Mr. Sikander Hayat Tariq, who are the sons of the late Wazir Mohd Hakla Poonchi, were present to witness the honor bestowed upon their father.
The event was well-attended by a diverse group of individuals, including numerous officers from the postal department, distinguished dignitaries, and VIPs from the Poonch District.
Among them were former legislators, DDC members, bureaucrats, and family members of the late Wazir Mohd Hakla Poonchi, reflecting the wide-ranging respect and admiration for the late leader.
In his address, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke about the significant contributions of Wazir Mohd Hakla Poonchi to the region and his enduring legacy. The release of the commemorative stamp serves as a tribute to his life’s work and his impact on the community.
