In a significant move against terrorism, police in Kupwara have attached properties belonging to two Pakistan-based terrorist handlers. The land, which spans 2 Kanals and 6 Marlas, is owned by Asad Mir, son of Diya Mir, and Manzoor Ahmad Qureshi, also known as Mir, son of Abdul Rashid Qureshi.
Both individuals are residents of Jumgand, Kupwara, and have been identified as persistent threats to the peace and security of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The property attachment follows the investigation of FIR No. 25/2023 registered at Police Station Trehgam. Through thorough intelligence gathering and meticulous investigation, the police identified these properties as being linked to the terrorist handlers.
This action underscores the authorities’ commitment to combat terrorism and dismantle the support networks that enable such activities.
The attachment of these properties is part of a broader strategy to disrupt the financial and logistical support structures that sustain terrorist organizations and their facilitators.
By targeting the assets of these handlers, the authorities aim to undermine their capacity to fund and facilitate terrorist operations, thereby weakening the infrastructure of terrorism in the region.
This decisive action is expected to send a strong message to those involved in or supporting terrorism that their activities will not be tolerated.
The Kupwara Police’s ongoing efforts are a testament to their dedication to safeguarding the region from the scourge of terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of its residents.
