    Police in Kotranka apprehended three individuals and seized counterfeit currency amounting to Rs 4,500 from them. Authorities received a tip-off about individuals from various villages in Kotranka using fake money in the local market. Acting swiftly, the police arrested Sikandar Shah from Draj village Budhal, Zafar Shah and Abid Shah from Targain in Budhal.

    Upon searching them, the police discovered the fake currency. A case was registered under FIR number 41/2024, Sections 489B/489C IPC at Kotranka Police Station, and investigations are ongoing. The police are interrogating the arrested individuals to uncover more about their connections and potentially apprehend others involved in the counterfeit currency trade.

    Earlier this month, police had arrested the wife of Lashkar commander Talib Shah, along with her brother and another individual from Draj in Kotranka. Based on their disclosures, the police also recovered an improvised explosive device (IED). These arrested individuals were identified as over ground workers for terrorists.
