JK Police Seize Properties of Notorious Drug Peddlers in Jammu’s Rajeev Nagar

February, 15th, Jammu: Continuing it’s war against the menace of drug trade in the area, strict action against drug peddlers was taken today by the Jammu Police. The action included attachment of two residential houses valuing in Lakhs belonging to 2 notorious drug peddlers namely,

1) Poonam W/O Late Satveer R/O Rajeev Nagar Jammu
2) Khemo Devi W/O Late Sudesh Kumar R/O Rajeev nagar Jammu ,

under the provisions of section 68(E) (F) of NDPS Act, 1985.

During the scrutiny of the FIRs lodged against both the accused persons, the investigating officers have a reason to believe that the value of the properties in question is beyond their known sources of income and as such prima facie, are illegally acquired from the proceeds of illegal trade of Narcotic Drugsd and Psychotropic Substances.

The valuation of the above properties have been jointly done by the revenue department and the R&B department.

The process of attachment has been done in presence of executive magistrate and a team of police officers, SP South Jammu, SDPO East , DSP (P) Nadiya Farooq, DSP (P) Zarqa , SHO Bahu Fort, SHO Channi Himmat , ICPP Narwal. The perusal of the crime records reveals the involvement of above said persons , at least in the following FIRs:

1) Poonam W/O Late Satveer R/O Rajeev Nagar , already having 3 FIRs in her name viz.

1) 73/2020 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act PS Bahu fort , Jammu.

2) 170/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act PS Bahu fort , Jammu

3) 12/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act PS Bahu fort Jammu
Pertinent to mention that she had already been booked under PIT-NDPS and she was recently released from jail three months back. And again she has been found involved the drug trade.

2) Khemo Devi ( and her family) W/O Late Sudesh Kumar R/O Rajeev Nagar, already having 4 FIRs in their name viz.

1) 21/2018 us 8/20 NDPS act of ps Bahu fort, Jammu

2) 164/2018 US 8/20 NDPS act of Ps Bahu fort , Jammu

3) 1/2024 us 8/21/22 NDPS act of Ps Bahu fort

4) 59/2024 US 8/21/22 NDPS Act of PS, Bahufort.

Today’s action represents the firm resolve of Jammu police against the drug trade and it’s consistent effort at coming down heavy on the peddlers. Netizens , respectable members of the society and the local residents have overwhelmingly appreciated the action of Jammu police. This operation reaffirms the commitment of Jammu Police to combat the drug menace with full force.
