JK Allocated Rs 37.28 Crore in 2024-25 Budget for Development and Resource Gap
In the recently revealed interim union budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, Jammu and Kashmir has been assigned a total allocation of Rs 37,277.74 crore. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, outlining the financial provisions for the upcoming year.
The detailed breakdown of the allocation indicates that a substantial amount, Rs 35,619.30 crore, is specifically earmarked for addressing the resource gap in the Union Territory. This allocation aims to support various developmental and infrastructural initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir.
It is noteworthy that this budget announcement marks the final financial plan under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi’s government before the impending Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April-May this year.
