IUST and MIET Top National Innovation Rankings in Jammu and Kashmir
The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora and the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) Jammu have emerged as the leading institutions in the National Innovation Rankings. This ranking is released by the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, recognizing the contributions of educational institutions in innovation and development.
IUST and MIET’s Achievements
IUST has been awarded a four-star ranking, acknowledging its significant contributions to innovation, fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem, and capacity building among youth. Meanwhile, MIET Jammu has secured a 3.5-star ranking, highlighting its commitment to innovation, research, and development.
Performance of Other Regional Institutes
The rankings also include 54 other institutes from the Jammu and Kashmir region. However, many of these institutions, including 26 from the Jammu region and 28 from the Kashmir region, received a lower rating of 1/5 stars. Notably, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar and the University of Kashmir were awarded 2/5 star rankings.

The list features several other notable institutes, including Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri, Central Universities of Jammu and Kashmir, Cluster University of Srinagar, various Government Degree Colleges, and the University of Jammu.
