Israeli Strikes in Southern Lebanon Raise Concerns Over Regional Ceasefire Efforts
Beirut, June 19 [VoM News]: In a major attack carried out by Israeli forces carried out across southern Lebanon, at least 16 people were killed in the strikes as per the Israeli military, AP reported.
As the reports of renewed fighting with Hezbollah threatens to complicate efforts aimed at reducing tensions across the region, says the reports.
While, Lebanese state media have reported that at least 16 people were killed in the strikes. Hezbollah said intense clashes were continuing in several areas of southern Lebanon, as per media reports.
The Israeli military stated that operations targeting Hezbollah positions remained ongoing.
The basic fundamental of the timing of the escalation when the efforts to implement the steps which were recently announced after the agreement between Iran and the United States is made which intends to reduce hostilities in the Middle East.

The framework reportedly calls for a halt to military operations across multiple fronts, including Lebanon, where cross-border confrontations between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement have persisted.
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has maintained that military operations will continue until the threat posed by Hezbollah is neutralised.
Whereas, the Israeli officials have indicated that security considerations remain their primary concern despite diplomatic efforts underway in the region.
Geopolitical pundits are of the opinion that any further escalation along the Lebanon-Israel border could have wider implications for ongoing peace efforts and regional security, amid the negotiations and recent agreement between Iran and United States is in its effect now.
Now, the question arises whether the agreement between the United States and Iran is also followed by Israel or not. Israel is also bound to follow the agreement in its real spirit. As the elections season approaches in Israel, a massive surge in airstrikes seems a million dollar question at the crucial time.
