International cricket is set to make a historic return to Kashmir after nearly four decades, with the final leg of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) scheduled to take place in Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium this October.
The upcoming season of the LLC, which begins on September 20, 2024, at Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur, will conclude with an electrifying final on October 16, 2024, in Srinagar.
Raman Raheja, the Co-Founder of LLC, expressed his enthusiasm about bringing cricket back to Kashmir, highlighting the significance of this event for the local population, who have not witnessed live international cricket for almost 40 years.
Raheja also emphasized that this opportunity will allow cricketers to experience the region’s stunning beauty and warm hospitality.
The LLC, known for its thrilling matches, attracted an audience of 180 million viewers across India in the previous season. This year’s edition is expected to break previous viewership records, with an expanded schedule and a star-studded lineup that includes recently retired Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan.
The tournament will feature a total of 25 matches played among six teams, including legendary players such as Suresh Raina, Chris Gayle, Aaron Finch, and Gautam Gambhir.
The league will traverse four cities—Jodhpur, Surat, Jammu, and Srinagar—culminating in the much-anticipated final in Kashmir.
Adding to the excitement, the player auction for this season will be held in New Delhi on August 29, 2024, where franchises will vie to secure the best talents from a pool of over 200 Indian and international cricketers.
The return of cricket to Kashmir marks a significant moment for the region and its passionate cricket fans.
