Indian Shares Track Global Gains in Special Trading Session: Sensex Marginal, Nifty Up in Special Saturday Session
In a special trading session on Saturday, Indian shares reflected gains in global markets. At 10 am, the Sensex was marginally down by 1.78 points at 71,681.45, while the Nifty rose by 6.80 points to reach 21,629.20. The special trading session was conducted ahead of Monday’s market closure due to the Ram Temple ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony in Ayodhya.
Market Operations During Special Session
The stock market opened on Saturday for a special live trading session to test a failsafe system for trading. Both the BSE and NSE aimed to switch to the DR site with the help of this special session. Price bands applicable for a normal trading day remained in place on January 20, and the NSE announced a 5% price band for the special session.
