In a remarkable display of courage and skill, Indian Army dog Domino and his handler Lance Naik Lucky Kumar have been awarded the Northern Army Commendation Card. This honor recognizes their critical role in tracking down a Pakistani terrorist during a recent encounter in Rajouri.

Domino’s Pivotal Role in Neutralizing Threats

Domino played a crucial role in the successful operation by tracing the blood trail of the terrorists, leading security forces to their hideouts. His exceptional abilities significantly aided in locating and neutralizing the terrorist threat in the Kalakote area, showcasing the vital role of military dogs in combat situations.

Visit by Northern Army Commander to Rajouri

Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the Northern Army Commander, visited the Kalakote area in Rajouri to review the operational situation following the encounter. During his visit, Lt Gen Dwivedi was briefed on the details of the operation, which resulted in the elimination of two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, including a top commander.

Solemn Tributes to Fallen Soldiers

The operation, unfortunately, also led to the loss of five brave Indian Army soldiers, including two captains. Heart-wrenching visuals from the wreath-laying ceremony on Friday showed army officers and soldiers paying their last respects to their fallen comrades. The elimination of the terrorist Quari, known for orchestrating several attacks, marks a significant setback to terrorist activities in the region.
