    Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq engaged in discussions aimed at bolstering bilateral cooperation across various sectors during the Sultan’s official visit to Delhi. Addressing their commitment to deepen ties, PM Modi highlighted the multifaceted nature of collaboration, spanning commerce, culture, defense, and innovation.

    Expressing satisfaction with the ongoing Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) negotiations, PM Modi anticipated its signing soon, envisioning a new dimension in economic cooperation between the two nations.

    Emphasizing the historic significance of Sultan Haitham’s visit after 26 years, PM Modi welcomed the Sultan, extending heartfelt greetings on behalf of the people of India. He also congratulated Oman on qualifying for the upcoming T20I Cricket World Cup, underlining the shared joy in sporting achievements.

    The joint delegation adopted a novel ‘India-Oman Joint Vision, a Partnership for the Future’, encompassing ten pivotal areas of collaboration, intended to modernize and strengthen their partnership.

    Furthermore, the Sultan’s visit included a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where PM Modi and President Droupadi Murmu welcomed Sultan Haitham. The Sultan inspected a Guard of Honour presented by the combined defense services, signifying mutual respect and honor between the nations.

    The distinguished visit witnessed the Sultan’s exploration of the National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi, underscoring cultural exchanges between the two countries.

    The presence of prominent Indian officials, including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Minister of State V Muraleedharan, and Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, showcased India’s commitment to nurturing robust bilateral ties.

    Sultan Haitham’s three-day State visit culminated in discussions, reaffirming the commitment to reinforce the historical bond and foster comprehensive collaboration across various domains between India and Oman.
