ICMR Study: COVID Vaccine Not Linked to Heart Attacks, says Mandaviya

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya clarified that a detailed study by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) demonstrates that the COVID-19 vaccine is not responsible for heart attacks. Speaking at ‘ANI Dialogues – Navigating India’s health sector,’ he emphasized that an individual’s lifestyle, including factors like binge drinking, could be underlying causes. Mandaviya commended the holistic approach of the Modi government, ensuring affordable healthcare for citizens.

Global Vaccine Outreach and Misconception Challenges

Highlighting India’s efforts, Mandaviya mentioned the supply of COVID-19 vaccines to around 150 countries worldwide, fostering goodwill. He acknowledged attempts to create misconceptions about COVID-19 vaccines, stressing that data-based and scientific research-based decisions guide the government.

    Scientific Approach and Political Narratives

Responding to concerns, Mandaviya emphasized the importance of scientific decisions, stating that political narratives don’t influence vaccination strategies. He debunked misconceptions around vaccine safety and shared that the government’s decisions were based on expert advice and scientific evidence.

Vaccine Maitri Initiative and Global Recognition

Mandaviya underscored India’s commitment to global cooperation, referencing the Vaccine Maitri initiative and the country’s role in providing affordable medicines to 150 countries. He noted accolades from Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates for India’s COVID-19 management and vaccination efforts.

Honoring Heritage and Future Aspirations in Medicine

Reflecting on India’s ancient medical achievements, Mandaviya expressed the need to honor heritage. He emphasized the role of the health sector in India’s development and urged the new generation to draw inspiration from the nation’s rich scientific history.

As India navigates its health sector challenges, Minister Mandaviya’s remarks highlight the government’s commitment to evidence-based decisions, global cooperation, and the integration of traditional wisdom into modern healthcare.
