ICICI Direct Reports Glitches on BSE, Advises Clients to Use NSE
ICICI Direct, a leading domestic brokerage, faced connectivity issues on the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange), resulting in difficulties for its clients in placing trade orders. The brokerage firm took to social media to inform clients about the situation and advised them to use the NSE (National Stock Exchange), which was operating without issues.
ICICI Direct issued a statement on its social media platform, stating, “You may face difficulty in placing trades on BSE exchange as there is a connectivity issue at BSE. You can place your trades at NSE, which is working fine.” The brokerage assured its clients that it was actively working with the BSE team to resolve the issue and would provide updates once the problem was resolved.
However, some users reported issues even when trading on the NSE. One user mentioned difficulties in selling stocks from their portfolio through ICICI Direct and expressed dissatisfaction with the customer service’s inability to rectify the issue. Another user pointed out delays in order execution during the first 15 minutes of trading on the NSE and revealed they had been informed that the firm was in the process of procuring additional connectivity pipes.
Connectivity Issues and Impacted Trading
Connectivity issues can disrupt trading activities for brokers and their clients, potentially causing delays in order execution and impacting the overall trading experience. During such situations, brokerage firms often suggest alternative trading platforms or exchanges where trading can proceed without interruptions.
ICICI Direct Assures Resolution
ICICI Direct assured its clients that it was actively working to resolve the connectivity issue on the BSE and would provide updates once the situation had been rectified.
