Houthi Rebels Struck Ras Tanura Oil Refinery Of Saudi Arabia by Ballistic Missiles

RIYADH, October 27, 2026 (VoM News): The rebel Houthis on Tuesday claimed it had targeted Ras Tanura oil refinery of Saudi Arania with a ballistic missile.

As per details available with VoM News, there were reports of explosions in the kingdom’s Eastern Province and capital, Riyadh.

Reliable sources close to VoM News stated that Houthi are targetting the key oil and infrastructure of kingdom.

Houthis military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group’s forces struck the refinery, alleging the attack caused major fires.

The Saudi-led coalition said it had intercepted three missiles fired towards the Eastern Province.

A resident of Al Khobar told AFP that explosions were heard around dawn after a mobile alert warned of a threat. Maritime security agency Vanguard reported a fire in the Ras Tanura area, adding that it had reportedly been contained.

So far, till the filing of the report, the extent of damage and any impact on oil-loading operations remained unclear.

The Ras Tanura complex, located on Saudi Arabia’s Gulf coast, is a key component of the kingdom’s energy infrastructure, with refining capacity of around 550,000 barrels per day.

Separately, the coalition said it intercepted two ballistic missiles fired towards Riyadh, where explosions reportedly shook buildings and residents received alerts urging them to seek shelter.

The developments came amid escalating tensions after Egypt’s parliament authorised defensive military support for Saudi Arabia.

Houthi political bureau member Mohammed Ali al-Houthi described the decision as a declaration of war against Yemen.

He said the group was not afraid of any alliance formed against it.

So far, Egypt has not publicly detailed the military support it may provide, sources close to VoM News said.
