HMD Teases Arrival of New Iconic Phone in May
HMD Global, the Finnish mobile manufacturer, has teased the imminent launch of a new handset, hinting at a refreshed model of the iconic Nokia 3210. The company, renowned for its Nokia-branded phones, announced plans to introduce its own branded devices in 2024, marking a departure from exclusively offering Nokia phones for the past seven years.
In a recent announcement on X, HMD revealed that a new iconic phone would be unveiled in May. Accompanying the announcement was a pixelated image of a Nokia feature phone in a vibrant yellow shade, accompanied by the tagline “An icon returns this May.” The teaser post, published on March 18, coincided with the 25th birthday of the Nokia 3210, suggesting its potential comeback.
While gearing up for the launch of self-branded smartphones in July, HMD continues to maintain a multi-brand strategy, reaffirming its commitment to producing original devices alongside Nokia phones. Additionally, the company has teased the introduction of a Barbie-branded flip phone in partnership with toy maker Mattel, slated for release in the summer of this year.
