
Amid the recent hike in prices of Kashmiri breads, the locals have raised concerns regarding the impact on the households, bread earners, poor families, and the person with a low income.
The locals have called the administration to immediately pull the nails off and to tackle the prices of the traditional Kashmiri breads.
It’s pertinent to mention here that Kashmiri breads include various types, like ghee bread, kulcha, and sheermal, and the recent spike is giving a hard hit to the Kashmiri households.

The new price listed depicts the increase in price at Rs 10 for 63 grams and Rs 20 for 105 grams, whereas the special kulcha stays at Rs 400 per kilogram, and the local kulcha costs Rs 300 per kilogram.
The new price for katlam has been fixed at Rs 10 and Rs 20, as per the new price, whereas Sheermal stays at Rs 15 and Rs 20 per piece.
On the recent hike, All Jammu Kashmir Bread Makers and the local bread union defended the hike, being made in accordance with authorities.
Sofi Abdullah, Majeed Pampori, who heads the Kashmiri Bread Makers and Bakers union, claimed the hike decision was made after thorough discussion and communication with the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
However, the locals have termed this hike unbearable and have sought the intervention of authorities in this matter.
