GMC Doda Hosts Debate and Poster Presentation on Vascular Health

In a spirited display of intellectual and creative prowess, the Govt. Medical College Doda recently hosted a poster presentation and debate competition, focusing on the crucial theme of “Tobacco and Vascular Health”.

The Department of Community Medicine, in collaboration with the Department of General Surgery, organized this event. It aimed to cultivate leadership qualities and intellectual abilities among students, particularly the MBBS Batch 2023-24.

Inaugural Address and Theme Emphasis

Dr. Suresh K Kotwal and Dr. Babar Rashid Zargar, heads of the Departments of Community Medicine and General Surgery respectively, opened the event. They emphasized the significance of vascular health and the adverse impacts of tobacco consumption.

Panel of Distinguished Judges

A panel of esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Sumat Ul Khursheed, Dr. Safia Khan, Dr. Garima Charak, and Prof.(Dr.) Puja Vimesh, evaluated the participants’ performances. Their expert judgment ensured a fair competition and the best participants were duly recognized.

Dr. Himanshu from the Department of Physiology played a crucial role in managing the event. His efficient stage hosting contributed to the smooth progression of the competition.

Closing Address and Acknowledgements

In his closing remarks, Dr. Babar Rashid Zargar expressed gratitude to all participants, faculty members, and the Chief Guest. He also informed the audience about the newly scheduled superspeciality CTVS OPD for Cardiothorasic and Vascular surgical facilities.
