Kishtwar, October 2, 2024: Nearly 800 government and private schools across the Kishtwar district came together to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti with immense enthusiasm.
Under the supervision of Chief Education Officer (CEO) Javaid Ahmed Kichloo and the leadership of school heads, more than 40,000 students participated in activities dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy.
The celebrations aimed to honor Gandhi Ji’s principles of non-violence, peace, and community service, which are still relevant today. Among the key events were debate competitions, where students passionately discussed the role of non-violence in India’s independence movement, reflecting on how Gandhi’s approach continues to influence the world.
A quiz competition also tested students’ knowledge of Gandhi Ji’s life, philosophies, and contributions to the nation. The students displayed impressive understanding and admiration for the Father of the Nation.
Additionally, a painting competition allowed students to creatively express Gandhi Ji’s ideals. Through their artwork, the participants honored his efforts in leading India’s freedom struggle, adding a creative and thoughtful dimension to the district-wide celebrations.
These celebrations serve as a reminder of Gandhi Ji’s powerful influence and lasting legacy, inspiring the younger generation to adopt his values in their daily lives.
