Five KU Employees Suspended After Physical Altercation Over Minor Car Mishap
A dispute arising from a minor car mishap on the Kashmir University campus has resulted in the suspension of five employees, as confirmed by university officials. “The altercation reportedly occurred outside the Allama Iqbal Library after the university had closed for the day, around 4:30 pm on Wednesday, when vehicles belonging to Riyaz and Aquib had a minor collision. The situation escalated as the dispute turned physical, involving the participation of two additional employees. Passersby, including students and other staff members, captured the fistfight on camera.
An official familiar with the incident described it as “a scene of utter hooliganism” that was incongruent with the university’s environment. Many students expressed concerns about the incident, urging action against the employees to prevent the setting of a negative precedent. The official emphasized the potential adverse effects on students’ mental well-being and the university’s public image.
