Five Arrested for Beating Army Jawan to Death in Odisha
Odisha Police have arrested five individuals for the alleged fatal assault on 28-year-old Army jawan J Dilleswar Patra in Ganjam district.
The victim, posted in West Bengal’s Durgapur district, succumbed to injuries at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
The arrested persons, identified as J Kalyani Patra, Ch Sekhar Patra, B Cheneya Patra, B Bulu Patra, and Ch Vicky Patra, were seized with two motorcycles and two mobile phones.
Previous enmity between two village groups is suspected as the motive for the incident, with a quarrel during a Lord Ganesh procession cited as an earlier point of conflict.
