Fisherman Drowns as Boat Capsizes in Wular Lake; Body Recovered
A tragic incident occurred in Kanbathi village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district as a 45-year-old fisherman, Mushtaq Ahmad Kawa, lost his life when his boat capsized in Wular Lake during an early morning fishing trip.
Local sources, confirming the event to Kashmir News Service, reported that Mushtaq Ahmad Kawa, son of Gh Mohd Kawa and a resident of Kanbathi village in Bandipora district, was navigating the waters of Wular Lake in pursuit of fish when the unfortunate incident took place.

Despite the efforts of fellow fishermen, it took approximately an hour to recover Mushtaq Ahmad Kawa’s body from the lake.
Authorities have transported the body to the district hospital in Bandipora, where further investigation into the incident has been initiated.
