Extension of Last Date For physical verification of JK Pensioners and Family Pensioners ; Circular Issued

Jammu Kashmir Finance Department, has issued a circular regarding the extention in the last date for physical verification of Pensioners and Family Pensioners in Jammu Kashmir to Nov, 30.
The circular, issued on Nov 14, a copy of which is also available to VoM reads as below:
The Physical verification of Pensioners/Family Pensioners and simultaneous digitization of the pension data was initiated in July 2024 with 30.09.2024 as the last date for verification.

Subsequently, the date of verification was extended upto 30th of October 2024. Moreover, for facilitation of old aged and infirm pensioners, a provision for home visit
by the treasury staff was also prescribed and as many as 7000 verifications conducted at residences of the pensioners.
For verification of Pensioners residing outside J&K, a Pensioner Friendly mechanism of Video-graphic Verification was also put in place.
Over all, there has been appreciable cooperation from the pensioners as 2.28 Lakh out of the total number of 2.43 Lakh pensioners have successfully completed the verification process. However despite all these interventions and repeated extensions around 15000 pensioners have not still responded to the verification exercise.
Accordingly, it has been decided to provide a Last chance for verification to the left over pensioners. The last date for conduct of physical verification is here by extended upto 30.11.2024.
The Treasury officers shall issue written notices to the left over pensioners. The
disbursement of pension to such pensioners who fail to report for verification by or before 30.11.2024, despite issuance of notices, shall be suspended.
