DSEJ Orders Changes in School Timings for Summer and Winter Zones

The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has issued a notification regarding the change in school timings for both summer and winter zones in the Jammu Division.
According to Order No: 172-DSEJ of 2024, dated May 19, 2024, all government and recognized private schools in the summer zones of the Jammu Division will now operate from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. This change, effective from May 20, 2024, has been implemented in response to the extreme hot weather conditions and will remain in effect until further notice.
In a separate order, school timings for winter zone schools have also been adjusted. The new schedule, prompted by requests from parents across various districts, changes the timings from 10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. This adjustment, aimed at accommodating the extreme heat, will be implemented by the respective Chief Education Officers in consultation with the concerned Deputy Commissioner and will remain in place until further orders.
