Divisional Commissioner Reviews Power Supply Status in Jammu Division

JAMMU, JULY 24: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, convened a review meeting today to assess the current power supply status in the districts of Jammu Division.
The meeting was attended by MD JPDCL, Deputy Commissioners of the districts within Jammu Division, Chief Engineer JPDCL, Chief Engineer JPTCL, and other sectoral and district officials from the Power Development Department (PDD).
During the meeting, MD JPDCL, Vikas Kundal, provided a comprehensive update on the distribution infrastructure of JPDCL, the operational status of grid stations, and the power supply networks within the division.
The review covered key areas such as meeting peak power demands, load management strategies, and the consumer grievance redressal mechanism.
The Divisional Commissioner emphasized the need for improving power supply across all regions, with particular attention to areas that are 100% smart metered. He directed PDD officials to ensure a swift response time for the repair and replacement of damaged transformers to minimize disruptions.
Additionally, the officials were instructed to address any bottlenecks in the transmission and distribution networks to further reduce power curtailments.
Deputy Commissioners from various districts provided detailed updates on the power supply situation, including curtailment schedules and response times in their respective areas. The discussion also included a review of power supply for agricultural purposes and in remote and far-flung areas of the division.
The Divisional Commissioner urged the officials to focus on enhancing power supply reliability and efficiency, stressing the importance of minimal curtailments and quick resolution of any issues in the power distribution network.
The meeting underscored the commitment to providing uninterrupted power supply to all regions within the Jammu Division.
