DGP Grievance Redressal Initiative Draws Substantial Participation in Jammu: 237 Grievances Addressed
The public grievance redressal programme initiated by the Director General of Police (DGP) continues to garner significant attention, with a multitude of individuals converging at the Police Headquarters in Jammu to voice their concerns directly to the police chief.
During the extensive 5-hour session of the grievance redressal programme held today, 237 individuals, encompassing women and elderly persons, presented their grievances to DGP J&K.
DGP J&K R.R. Swain, presiding over the programme, patiently listened to the grievances, complaints, and pleas of the people individually. He reiterated the police force’s commitment to addressing issues related to police services in the union territory promptly. In certain instances, immediate directives were issued to various police units to ensure swift and effective resolution.
Emphasizing the program’s core objective, DGP Swain clarified that it is solely dedicated to resolving complaints and grievances associated with police services. Importantly, he underscored that the initiative does not pertain to the recruitment of Special Police Officers (SPOs) or the general transfer of police personnel.
The DGP’s grievance redressal programme serves as a platform for the citizens of J&K to directly submit their complaints and grievances to the DGP. This proactive approach enhances the responsiveness and accountability of the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) by ensuring prompt review and redressal of grievances. The program primarily aims to rectify and address public concerns regarding police services at various levels.
