Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to make a visit to the Northern Command Headquarters in Udhampur on February 24. During his visit, he will inaugurate a new building at the Command Hospital and engage in discussions with senior Army Commanders regarding the current situation in the Union Territory, according to officials.

This visit marks his second trip to the Jammu region in less than two months, following closely after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tour to Jammu on February 20. The agenda for Rajnath Singh’s visit includes receiving detailed briefings on the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir, with a particular focus on the Valley, the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan, and the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China in Eastern Ladakh, as per official sources.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to visit Jammu on February 20 to address a public rally and inaugurate or lay the foundation stone for several developmental projects. Alongside addressing the public rally, PM Modi is set to inaugurate significant projects, including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaypur in Samba, the highest Railway bridge linking Kashmir with the rest of the country in Reasi district, the Devika Rejuvenation project at Udhampur, as well as the establishment of IIM Jammu and Shahpur Kandi.
