DDC Doda Champions Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign and Developmental Activities
Doda, October 03 – The Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign recently concluded in the district, leaving a significant impact on the community’s behavior. A special cleanliness drive, as per the call of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, was conducted on October 1st, known as “Eik Tareekh Eik Ghanta Eik Sath,” which mobilized people in rural and urban areas to participate in cleanliness initiatives across panchayats, offices, water bodies, tourist destinations, and other public places.
The District Development Commissioner (DDC) of Doda, Vishesh Mahajan, chaired a meeting with officers from various line departments to assess the achievements and impact of the campaign in the district.
During the review, DDC Mahajan emphasized that more efforts are needed to achieve the desired results in cleanliness initiatives. He urged officers to dedicate one hour every Saturday to clean their offices and their surroundings, involving and motivating Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and the general public to embrace cleanliness as a way of life for healthier living. He also announced that the cleaning of Neru Nallah would be undertaken for the next two months, involving various departments, PRIs, and the public.

Regarding the district’s developmental scenario, DDC Mahajan emphasized that departments such as PWD, JSD, JPDCL, and RDD are the backbone of infrastructure development. He emphasized the importance of executing approved projects while maintaining the highest quality standards and adhering to project timelines. The agriculture and allied departments, along with the cooperative department, were encouraged to collaborate with the Employment department and financial institutions to create sustainable livelihood opportunities in the district.
DDC Mahajan informed the meeting that a sector-wise review would commence from October 5th, and he directed officers to ensure that targets are achieved within the prescribed timelines.
Additionally, the implementation of various government programs and schemes was reviewed during the meeting. DDC Mahajan stressed the need for impactful execution on the ground before the onset of winter this year. He urged the concerned Executive Engineers to monitor ongoing projects through frequent field visits and expedite the pace of work to ensure timely completion.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including ADDC Doda, ADC Doda, CPO, SE PWD, SE Jal Shakti, SE JPDCL, GM DIC Doda, ACD, DFO Doda, DFO Bhaderwah, Executive Engineers (All), CEO, CAO, CMO, CAHO Doda, DSWO, DSHO, and other relevant officers and officials.
