CYVIATION Featured in Corporate Jet Investor’s Cybersecurity Report: Minor Cyber Pranks Can Escalate to Catastrophic Aviation Risks
NEW YORK– April 2026– CYVIATION, an aviation technology company focused on aircraft cybersecurity, is prominently featured in Corporate Jet Investor’s (CJI) cybersecurity report. The report explores escalating threats in business aviation, featuring direct insights from CYVIATION’s CRO, Roy Arad.
Business jet owners now enjoy next-generation Wi-Fi that performs like lightning, lag-free gaming, crisp video streaming, effortless cabin apps, and seamless multi-orbit satellite switching that maximizes productivity and justifies every investment in time and cost. Yet, as connectivity advances with expanding satellite coverage and innovative tech, hackers are advancing too, targeting these hyper-connected environments.
According to the report, these risks stem from the sheer number and variety of devices linked to the network, which are vulnerable to malware infections, phishing scams, or connections to unsecure networks. “It’s not a closed environment anymore. Once you open Wi-Fi, that’s it. You’re connected. It’s just a matter of motivation,” said Roy Arad, CRO of CYVIATION.
“A cybersecurity prank, such as taking over the speakers or putting loud music on could possibly affect the pilot, and they could make a mistake, and that causes a safety issue,” says Arad. “It’s not a cybersecurity loophole used to crash the plane, but it could be a snowball to a catastrophic event.”
He adds: “Business jet clientele are sensitive to their privacy, their time, and any manipulation of the aircraft. That’s why most of them buy the aircraft to get their time back. So, if there’s any delay or anything jams up, it’s a bigger headache than even a commercial plane.”
“You can cause enough damage by taking over the cabin,” Arad continues. “You want your privacy to be protected, you don’t want the cabin management system affected or any delays, and you don’t want any GPS spoofing or ransomware attack when you’re in mid-flight over the Atlantic. So, from a business standpoint, it’s a big issue.”
Arad stresses the indispensable role of continuous, real-time visibility into aircraft digital ecosystems, enabling operators to identify, isolate, and neutralize threats before they escalate into crises. The CJI analysis aligns with ENISA’s Transport Threat Landscape, highlighting vulnerabilities in protocols like ACARS and GPS. CYVIATION’s SkyRay™ provides the persistent monitoring needed to secure business jets against these risks.
