CRPF Soldiers Injured in IED Blast in Dantewada; Naxals Torch Construction Vehicles
Two soldiers from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh. The incident occurred in the Barsoor police station area, specifically on the Barsur Palli route.
Details of the IED Explosion
The explosion took place while the soldiers from the 195th Battalion of CRPF were involved in removing a banner poster near a bridge. The Dantewada Police confirmed the incident and assured that the injured soldiers are currently out of danger and receiving medical treatment. Further information on the incident is awaited.
Recent Naxalite Activities in the Region
This incident follows another recent attack by suspected Naxalites in Dantewada. On November 27, a group of Naxals set fire to 14 vehicles and machines involved in construction work. This attack took place around 1:30 am at the Bangali camp under Bhansi police station limits. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident.
Official Report on the Vehicle Torching
Additional Superintendent of Police, Dantewada, RK Burman detailed the extent of the destruction, listing various types of vehicles and machinery that were set ablaze. The Naxals, numbering around 25-30 and dressed as villagers, fled the scene after torching the vehicles. The police responded promptly to the site to extinguish the fires.
These incidents highlight the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in areas affected by Naxalite activities, underscoring the need for continued vigilance and counter-insurgency measures in these regions.
