CRPF Boosts Security on NH-44 for Safe Amarnath Yatra
Ahead of the Amarnath Yatra, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has implemented a robust security plan to safeguard pilgrims travelling on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44).
This crucial route witnesses a large influx of devotees throughout the yatra, and the CRPF is leaving no stone unturned to ensure their safety.
CRPF personnel are maintaining a meticulous watch on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway (NHW-44).
They are deployed at every nook and corner, keeping a watchful eye for any suspicious activity. This vigilant presence aims to deter any potential threats and ensure the safety of pilgrims.
To further strengthen security, CRPF has significantly increased the frequency of patrols on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway.
CRPF’s Road Opening Party (ROP) and Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) are constantly patrolling the route. These patrols are crucial for prompt identification and response to any unforeseen situations.
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai (IAS), has discussed the preparations for the Shri Amarnath Yatra.
The security arrangements have been diligently made, and additional deployments of various Security forces including local authorities have been made on the route of the Amarnath Yatra, which passes through Udhampur, Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The entire team is dedicated to this task.
Saloni added that for the Udhampur district, 26 lodging centres have been established with proper security and sanitation arrangements.
Additionally, arrangements have been made for the accommodation of at least 6,000 people in these centres, in case the Yatra is interrupted due to landslides or road closures. Each lodging centre has been assigned a nodal officer, and all necessary arrangements have been completed to provide comfort to the pilgrims.
Amarnath Yatra is an annual significant pilgrimage for Hindus that shall commence on June 29 and conclude on August 19 this year.–(ANI)
