Court reserves order in Engineer Rashid interim bail application; response sought from NIA
On the interim bail application filed by jailed MP Engineer Rashid, Patiala House Court Tuesday, reserves it’s decision, seeking permission to join/attend the winter session of parliament. The bail application which was pending for several months, was heard, and now the honourable court has reserved its decision. The honourable court also considered the recommendation of the transfer of case to a specialised MP/MLA court, as given as the Rashid as public representatives.

Vikhayat Oberoi, The councel representing the Rashid addressed the delays in bail please, and called for an expeditious trial, whereas senior advocate Siddarth Luthra who appeared for NIA, strongly argued against the transfer of case. Another co-accused also expressed confusion over the judicial process and requested for an in-person hearing. Court also sought the response of National investigation agency by November 27.
Rashid was arrested under UAPA in 2019, in a connection with terror funding case, and has recently won the parliament elections, by defeating the big gaints.
