The Rouse Avenue Court has once again deferred the pronouncement of order on ‘framing of charges’ against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in a sexual harassment case lodged against him by six women wrestlers. The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Priyanka Rajpoot cited pending editing work, setting May 10 as the new date.
On April 26, the same court dismissed Singh’s application seeking further investigation into the case, asserting he was abroad during the alleged incident. Singh claimed he was in Serbia, not Delhi, on September 7, 2022. The chargesheet, filed last year, alleges sexual harassment, molestation, and stalking against Singh and Vinod Tomar, with statements from 44 witnesses recorded.
