Congress Gains Support from AIKHF Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls
Leading up to the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress Party secured the backing of the All India Kashmiri Hindu Forum (AIKHF), which officially joined the party last Saturday.
Vikar Rasool Wani, the President of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), announced this development during a press briefing at the party’s headquarters. He expressed confidence in the Congress’s growing support in J&K and predicted a victory in all seats for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Wani criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its failure to deliver on its promises, stating that there’s growing dissatisfaction among the people. He believes that voters will respond by rejecting the BJP in the elections.

Highlighting the BJP’s unfulfilled promises and the high inflation rates in J&K, Wani emphasized Congress’s commitment to the welfare of the people. He confidently stated that Congress would secure all five seats in J&K and the Ladakh seat as well.
Earlier, the JKPCC leader welcomed AIKHF chairman Rattan Lal Bhan and other members into the Congress Party. Established in 1998, AIKHF’s decision to join Congress was described by Wani as a significant boost for the party.
Encouraging other Kashmiri Pandit organizations to join Congress, Wani criticized the BJP-led Central government for neglecting the community over the past decade.
Rattan Lal Bhan, the AIKHF chairman, explained that he chose to merge his organization with Congress due to the positive efforts made by the Manmohan Singh-led government for Kashmiri Pandits.
