    Srinagar 4 Oct (KB): In another closely contested match, banking on a solid knock by Kevin O’Brien and some clinical bowling performances, Konark Suryas Odisha registered their second win in Legends League Cricket 2024 (LLC) as they defeated India Capitals by 5 runs at the Molana Azad Stadium in Jammu on Friday.

    After losing the toss and put into bat first, Richard Levi and Jesse Ryder opened the innings for Konark Suryas Odisha. They were down to 12/2 in 3.3 overs. While Levi made just 1 from 3 balls, Ryder added 3 from 10 balls. Kevin O’Brien and Dilshan Munaweera added 77 runs for the third wicket before Munaweera was dismissed for 33 from 44 balls by Iqbal Abdulla. Kevin O’Brien went onto complete his half century and remained unbeaten on 55* from 46 balls. Yusuf Pathan scored 12 from 13 balls. At the end, Konark Suryas Odisha posted a total of 127/4 in 20 overs.

    For India Capitals, Iqbal Abdulla remained the pick of the bowlers who took 3/16 in 4 overs. Dhawal Kulkarni took 1/22 in 4 overs.

    Chasing a target of 128 on the board, Dwayne Smith and Faiz Fazal opened the innings for India Capitals. They also faced an early setback as they lost their first two wickets for just 12 runs on the board. Skipper Ian Bell could only manage to make 10 from 13 balls. Bharat Chipli remained the only batter who showed some intent in the middle. He remained unbeaten on 61* from 48 balls. India Capitals could manage to score 122/7 in 20 overs.

    For Konark Suryas Odisha, Diwesh Pathania (1/22), Kevon Cooper (1/12), Shahbaz Nadeem (1/18), Pravin Tambe (1/29), KP Appanna (1/11) and Yusuf Pathan (1/4) took one wicket each in the innings. (KB)
