A heartbreaking incident occurred this morning in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district, where a boat capsized, resulting in the tragic loss of three students.

According to an official statement provided to News Agency Kashmir Scroll, the boat overturned while carrying several children across the Jehlum river from Gandbal to Batwara in Srinagar. Fortunately, thanks to the prompt response of the river police, all students were rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.

Regrettably, upon their arrival at the hospital, three of the students were pronounced dead, as reported by sources to News Agency Kashmir Scroll.

A police spokesperson informed News Agency Kashmir Scroll that a case has been filed in connection with the incident, and an investigation is currently underway.
