Nowgong, Chhatarpur district, experienced the coldest night in Madhya Pradesh, recording a bone-chilling 3.1 degrees Celsius, as reported by the Meteorological office. The cold spell continues across various regions in the state, with temperatures plummeting below 10 degrees Celsius. The regional Met office predicts a persistence of these weather conditions, anticipating minimum temperatures to hover between 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in Nowgong for the next three to four days.

Caution Advised as Cold Wave Persists

Hemant Sinha, an agricultural meteorologist at the Meteorological office in Chhatarpur, urges residents to venture out only when necessary and to ensure the use of heating measures such as fires and bonfires to combat the cold. The minimum temperatures in other parts of the state dipped below 7 degrees Celsius, with locations like Sidhi, Khajuraho, Sagar, Datia, Guna, Tikamgarh, Satna, Rewa, and Gwalior experiencing chilly conditions.

Widespread Fog Adds to Weather Woes

Moderate to dense fog blankets Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, and Singrauli districts, creating reduced visibility in several areas on Saturday morning. Shallow to moderate fog is observed in Neemuch, Mandsaur, Morena, Bhind, Sheopur Kalan, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Guna, Ashoknagar, Damoh, Katni, Umaria, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Dindori, and North Mandla districts. The state records minimal visibility, with Rewa at 50 meters, Khajuraho Airport at 100 meters, Tikamgarh and Satna at 200 meters, Sidhi at 500 meters, Jabalpur at 800 meters, and Gwalior Airport at 900 meters.
