Big Step By Jio and Airtel For J-k Customers: Special Relief measures announced
Telecom majors Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel on Wednesday announced special relief measures for their customers in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh, where unprecedented rains and flooding have severely disrupted normal life and telecom services.
Reliance Jio said it has put in place enhanced initiatives to ensure uninterrupted digital access in the affected regions. “Prepaid Mobile & JioHome subscribers with expiring plans this week will get an automatic 3-day validity extension.
Mobile users will receive unlimited voice calling and 2GB of high-speed data per day at no additional cost, while JioHome subscribers will get three additional days of their last valid plan free of charge,” the company said in a statement.
For postpaid mobile and JioHome users, Jio has announced a three-day grace period for bill payments to ensure seamless continuity of services. The company added that its engineering teams are working on the ground to enhance network resilience and restore connectivity at the earliest.
Airtel too rolled out a similar relief package. Prepaid customers whose plans are due to expire this week will get a three-day extension with unlimited calls and 1GB data per day, even if they are unable to recharge. Postpaid and broadband users will be provided a three-day grace period on bill payments.
