
Bhalessa Set to Shine: Grand Tourism Festival to Showcase Region’s Hidden Gem

Doda / July 9/ In a historic move, Bhalessa is all set to host its first-ever Tourism Festival at Bal Padri on July 20. Organized by the Education Environmental Social Sports and Cultural Society (EESS&CS) in collaboration with the District Administration Doda and the Tourism Department J&K, this mega event aims to put Bhalessa on the tourism map.
Bhal Phadhri Located at an altitude of 11,000 feet, Bal Padri is a scenic meadow that has recently been connected by road, opening up new possibilities for tourism in the region. The meadow, spread over 11 km, boasts unique and diverse flora, making it an attractive destination for nature lovers and botanists.
The festival will be a celebration of the region’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. Some of the key highlights include .Vibrant cultural shows showcasing the region’s unique traditions and customs .Trekking, adventure sports, and other exciting activities to thrill visitors.

The festival is expected to boost tourism footfall in the region, providing a much-needed economic boost to the local community. According to Ayub Zargar, Chairman of the society, “The maiden festival will act as a catalyst to present the unique culture and breathtaking beauty of the area to the outer world and also foster brotherhood and communal harmony.”
A New Destination on the Horizon: Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Harvinder Singh, expressed confidence that Bhal-Padri is going to become a trump card of J&K’s tourism, particularly given its potential. With the recent road connectivity, Bhal-Padri is all set to shine as Jammu and Kashmir’s next big tourist hotspot .
The presence of a Jamia Masjid in the center of Bal Phadhri has indeed become a significant attraction, boosting tourism in the area.
