    During the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit’s second day, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, outlined India’s transformative vision and urged the establishment of a semiconductor research center at IIT Gandhinagar. Emphasizing the significance of the Amrit period at Vibrant Gujarat, Vaishnaw aligned this vision with Prime Minister Modi’s goal of developing India by 2027.

    Acknowledging the momentum towards a developed India, Vaishnaw praised the swift execution of the Micron project, signed by PM Modi in the US in June, with construction starting within 90 days. Expressing gratitude to Namtech for talent development, Vaishnaw urged Micron to establish a Center of Excellence for Semiconductors at IIT Gandhinagar, seeking approval from the Chief Minister for this initiative.

    Highlighting the semiconductor industry’s need for a million talents in the next decade, Vaishnaw emphasized India’s role in supplying these talents. He underscored collaborations with universities to develop courses and training regimes, urging investment decisions to favor Bharat and Gujarat.

    The proposed Semiconductor Research Centre at IIT Gandhinagar aims to be a hub for semiconductor research and development, contributing to India’s technological advancement. As the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit progresses, Vaishnaw’s call for collaboration in semiconductor research reflects the government’s commitment to technology-driven economic growth.
