Annual Intra-College Road Race Unites GDC Kilhotran Students and Faculty

Kilhotran, 26 September 2024 – The Department of Physical Education and Sports, in collaboration with the NSS unit of GDC Kilhotran, held its Annual Intra-College Road Race, sparking excitement and a strong sense of unity among the students.

Under the guidance of Professor (Dr.) Javed Iqbal, Principal, GDC Kilhotran, the event saw active participation from more than 50 students, both boys and girls.

The boys’ race commenced from the College Gate in Kilhotran and concluded at Thaloran, while the girls’ race ended at Thaloran Bridge. Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Head of the Department of Arabic, officiated the event’s start, emphasizing the significance of physical fitness and sportsmanship in academic life.

Race Winners:

• Boys: Altaf Ahmad (1st), Alam Bhallesssi (2nd), Mohd Arif (3rd)
• Girls: Ronika Devi (1st), Simran (2nd), Arpna (3rd)

The faculty played a significant role in organizing the event, with Mr. Zakir Ali, Physical Director, leading the efforts. Additional support was provided by various department heads, including Dr. Aslam Rather (IQAC Convenor), Dr. Jozi Farhan, and Mr. Vicky Rattan, among others.

Medical services were provided by the Health Department of PHC Changa to ensure participants’ well-being, while local police ensured safety and security throughout the event.

The Department of Physical Education and Sports plans to continue organizing such events, fostering fitness, teamwork, and a sense of community among students.
