
DIGP, DC & SSP Doda Hold Peace Meet with Traders, Transporters and Citizens
Doda, September 13:- The Dy Inspector General of Police, DKR Range, Sh. Shridhar Patil IPS, along with Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Harvinder Singh IAS, and SSP Doda, Sh. Sandeep Kumar Mehta JKPS, held a meeting with the representatives from Beopar Mandal, Transport Association and prominent citizens & civil society of Doda, at District Police Office, Doda. The discussion was mainly focused on the various issues pertaining to restoring peace and resolving issues of the public at large.
Representatives of Beopar Mandal, transport association and others assured their active support and cooperation to the District administration in maintaining public order and requested for phase wise lifting of restrictions imposed under section 163 BNSS, so that Govt./ public business establishments may run smoothly and general public feels relieved. The representatives highlighted that in the recent flood situation, landslides in the district, the general public having already suffered significant losses needed to be supported through lifting of restrictions. They further requested for immediate restoration of services including Internet, transport facilities, opening of schools and market and assured to extend their active support and cooperation to administration in bringing the situation back to track.
SSP Doda Sh Sandeep Mehta JKPS, exhorted upon the participants to keep eye on the miscreants who are hell bent to disrupt the peace full situation of the district for which we all have to take responsibility to maintain law and order. While addressing the participants, Dy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh assured the participants that all their demands shall be met on priority and all the issues of the public related to supply of essential commodities for Doda and Kishtwar shall be addressed in 24 hours time.
The DIGP DKR range Shridhar Patil commended the role and support of general public of Doda including all stake holders, in maintaining peace and order in the district despite of attempts to create unrest not only in the district but whole of UT of J&K. He highlighted that the people of Doda have set an example of maintaining peace and communal harmony. The DIGP stressed upon the participants particularly business community to activate the CCTV cameras and ensure their functionality so that activities of trouble creators could be monitored. He sought cooperation and responsibility of transport association, shopkeepers to keep an eye on miscreants trouble creators which include sensitization of drivers, laborers, workers etc connected with the business activities. The representatives were assured that restrictions would be progressively eased out starting immediately. The reopening of shops in the market, resumption of transport services, restoration of broadband and mobile internet services and the reopening of schools will be carried out in a phased manner after assessing the ground situation. It was stressed upon the participants to remain in constant touch with the administration and help in bringing the situation towards normalcy which is the priority of the administration. Among others, Addl. DC Doda, ACR Doda, Addl. SP Hqrs Doda, Dy. SP Hqrs. DODA , SO to DIGP DKR range and SHO PS Doda were also present in the meeting.
