“To enhance the investigative skills of ACB officers, a capacity-building programme was conducted at the CBI Academy in Ghaziabad. This included a customised programme focused on the study of trap cases, disproportionate asset cases, and abuse of official position. Internal workshops were also organised on various topics to improve the appreciation of evidence in cases,” the statement added.
The ACB received complaints through the Satrak Nagrik mobile application, the ACB WhatsApp helpline, email, post, and in person. “These complaints were examined at the ACB. During the year, 2,772 cases were forwarded to Departmental Vigilance Officers (DVOs), and 2,434 cases were disposed of by the DVOs. Six DVO conferences—three each in Jammu and Srinagar—were held to review pending matters, address issues related to the disposal of cases, and ensure timely submission of information. Additionally, 27 Joint Surprise Checks (JSCs), 29 Preliminary Enquiries (PEs), 116 miscellaneous verifications, and 128 verifications were completed during the year,” the statement said.
The ACB also noted that in 2024, events such as the UT Vigilance Awareness Week, National Vigilance Awareness Week, and International Anti-Corruption Day were celebrated across the Union Territory. These events aimed to educate stakeholders about anti-corruption laws, rules, and the importance of transparent and good governance. (KNO)
