GDC Kilhotran celebrated Constitution Day 2024
KILHOTRAN (Bhalessa), Nov 26: Under the guidance and supervision of Principal Dr. Javid Iqbal Zargar and under the aegis of IQAC GDC Kilhotran celebrated Constitution Day on 26th November 2024, with active participation from the staff, and students of the college. The event aimed to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution. A pledge was taken by the attendees to reaffirm their faith in the Constitution of India.
Prof. Zain Batt ,HOD , Political Science was a keynote speaker on the occasion. He elucidated the significance of the Indian Constitution, detailing its adoption on 26th November and highlighting its salient features. The students were provided with insights into the historical context and the principles that form the foundation of the Constitution. He enlightened the students about Dr. B.R Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, and his meticulous efforts to ensure the representation of aspirations from all sections of society.
The Indian Constitution, being the lengthiest document, outlines the rights and duties of all citizens, reflecting the diverse values of the nation. He advised students to uphold these constitutional values in the future.
Several faculty members, including Dr. Riyaz Ahmad , Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad, Dr. Mohd Aslam Rather, Dr. Tasir Sharief ,Prof. Vicky Rattan, Prof. Zakir Ali, Dr. Mudassar Nazar , Prof. Joat Singh ,Prof. Sandeep Kumar ,Dr. Imtiaz Batt , Dr. Irshad Mir , Dr. Nasir Zargar , Dr. Tehleel Ahmad , Mr. Yassir Ahmed , Miss Annu and Miss Davinder Kour were present on the occasion.
Dr. Nasir Zargar delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the active participation and highlighting the importance of continuing to educate and promote constitutional values among the youth.
It is pertinent to mention here that a Quiz Competition was also organized by the Department of Political Science on the theme of Constitution of India and Constitutionalism.
