Kerala, India, continues to battle relentless heavy rains, resulting in severe landslides and flooding across the state. The southernmost district of Thiruvananthapuram has been particularly affected, experiencing widespread waterlogging and flooding in various areas.
Thiruvananthapuram District Under Siege The heavy rains, which began on Saturday, have inundated streets, roads, and low-lying regions of Thiruvananthapuram district. Visuals broadcasted on TV channels depicted the distressing scenes of waterlogged areas, with some instances of landslides.
Rescue Efforts Amidst Rising Waters
As the situation worsened, rescue teams sprang into action, utilizing inflatable boats to evacuate residents from their homes in parts of Thiruvananthapuram. The Technopark colony in Kazhakootam witnessed water entering homes, leading to the evacuation of affected individuals. Many homes were submerged, and landslides were reported in some areas.
