Motorola Razr 50 Ultra, the latest clamshell-style foldable handset from the Lenovo-owned brand, debuted in India on Thursday. The smartphone boasts a larger 4-inch cover display compared to last year’s model and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. It also features an IPX8 rating for water resistance and a 4,000mAh battery supporting both wired and wireless charging. Initially launched in China and select global markets last month, the Razr 50 Ultra was introduced alongside the more affordable Razr 50 model.
Price and Availability
Priced at Rs. 99,999 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is available in Midnight Blue, Spring Green, and Peach Fuzz color options. Sales begin during the Amazon Prime Day 2024 event on July 20-21. It will also be available through Motorola.in and leading retail stores including Reliance Digital. An early bird discount of Rs. 5,000 reduces the price to Rs. 94,999, with an additional Rs. 5,000 discount available on payments made via select bank cards. No-cost EMI options start at Rs. 5,000 per month, and Jio offers are bundled with the purchase.
Specifications
The dual-SIM (Nano SIM+ eSIM) Motorola Razr 50 Ultra runs on Android 14. It features a 6.9-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,640 pixels) LTPO pOLED inner display with a 165Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 413ppi pixel density. The 4-inch cover display (1,080×1,272 pixels) also boasts a 165Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and a Vegan leather coating on the rear. The frame is made of aluminum.
The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The dual outer camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. The inner display houses a 32-megapixel camera. Various AI-powered tools like action engine, auto smile capture, and gesture capture enhance the camera capabilities.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The Razr 50 Ultra has three microphones, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a software-based face unlock feature. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, and proximity light sensor. The device is IPX8-rated for water resistance.
The 4,000mAh battery supports 45W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse charging. It comes with a 68W charger. The phone measures 73.99 x 171.42 x 7.09mm when opened and 73.99 x 88.09 x 15.32mm when closed, and weighs 189g.
