Sonia Gandhi Urges Support for Congress in Lok Sabha Elections
Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has called on voters to support her party for a “brighter future,” criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its alleged pursuit of power at any cost and promotion of “hatred” for political gain. In a video message, Gandhi highlighted discrimination faced by various groups under the BJP government and emphasized Congress’s commitment to progress, justice, and unity.
During the ongoing third phase of Lok Sabha elections, approximately 50.71% voter turnout was recorded till 3 pm. This phase covers 93 Lok Sabha seats across 12 states and union territories. Over 1300 candidates, including around 120 women, are contesting in this phase, with more than 17.24 crore voters eligible to cast their votes. The BJP has secured the Surat seat unopposed.
