Srinagar: During a recent core committee meeting, the National Child Development Council (NCDC) members discussed the pressing need for accessible drinking water in public areas.

Committee members, including Mohammad Rizwan, Bindu Jacob, Shakila Abdul Wahab, Sudha Menon, and Radha Sajeev, emphasized the importance of drinking water facility at public places, particularly for children, women, and working individuals.

With rising temperatures, people often suffer due to the unavailability of drinking water. The committee members proposed the installation of drinking water facility at public places, and the provision of water bottles.

Additionally, they suggested adjusting office and school timings to ensure greater comfort for everyone.

Notably, National Child Development Council (NCDC) is an autonomous national child welfare organization, established to promote the welfare of women and children, besides ensuring education of children in India.
